Tyn-y-Bryn is a 25 acre small-holding situated on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf mountain, with spectacular views to the Skirrid mountain and the market town of Abergavenny, nestled in the valley below. The farm backs onto the oak woodland and open moorland of the Sugar Loaf allowing you to walk and explore the magnificent views and countryside, leaving your car safely parked in the yard.

Although small, the farm is stocked with a variety of animals including sheep, hens and two prize winning donkeys.

We can promise you magnificent views, a homely atmosphere, comfortable accommodation and a warm reception.

Self-Catering

Our Shepherd's cottage sleeps 2/3 in a simple but cosy environment on the slopes of the Sugar Loaf mountain within the Brecon Beacons National Park. We can offer spectacular views in an idyllic location yet only one mile from the market town of Abergavenny. There is a large living room with dining section and a wood burning stove (wood nearby!). There is oil central heating and double glazing and the kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, fridge and microwave. The bathroom has shower, toilet and washbasin. There are no extras to pay for - all bedding and towels are provided and there are no meters for electricity etc.

Outside there is a patio with reclining loungers as well as table and chairs for al fresco dining. The boiler house provides a drying room should we lapse on the weather!

Dogs are welcome and love it here - they bring their owners back year after year.

As well as the Shepherd's Cottage we also offer Maes-y-Deri which is a self contained wing of the farmhouse. It comprises a double bedroom, a small but well equipped kitchen area, bathroom with shower, basin, and W/C, and a large lounge/diner with magnificent views of the Skirrid Mountain and the northern side of Abergavenny in the valley below.

Maes-y-Deri enjoys the same peaceful location as the Shepherd's Cottage with easy access to the hill directly behind the property. One dog is very welcome but unfortunately this accommodation is unsuitable for children.

It is a superb base for walking, riding, golf, bird watching or just relaxing. Evening meals can be provided if required -by arrangement please.
